Chief Financial Officer
Jay Brown is a senior operating, finance, and strategy executive with deep experience leading turnarounds, restructurings, and complex transformation initiatives across industrial, defense, and service sector organizations. His career spans interim and permanent executive leadership roles, private equity backed restructurings, government and defense engagements, and transaction driven environments requiring decisive execution and stakeholder alignment.
Jay has extensive experience diagnosing underperforming businesses and implementing operational and financial restructuring solutions. He has served as Chief Financial Officer, Interim CFO, Chief Restructuring Officer, and senior operations leader in both out of court and Chapter 11 situations. His work has included stabilizing operations, restoring profitability, recapitalizing balance sheets, negotiating with creditors, and building platforms for sustainable growth.
In the defense and government sectors, Jay has led bid strategy and proposal development, Best and Final Offer submissions, DCAA audit preparation, contract pricing, cost estimating, and contract negotiations. He has worked closely with executive teams and government stakeholders to navigate complex compliance requirements while maintaining competitive positioning. His public sector experience also includes feasibility studies, economic and demographic analysis, operational assessments, benchmarking, and strategic planning initiatives.
Previously, Jay served as Chief Financial Officer of Dura, a $1 billion-plus global company specializing in design, engineering and manufacturing structural body systems, EV auto and Control systems. Dura had 335 facilities in 15 countries. He also was CFO of Peterson American Corporation, a global supplier of engineered metal products serving automotive, industrial, aerospace and defense, and agricultural markets, with operations across North America and the United Kingdom. He also held senior restructuring and finance leadership roles at Revstone Industries, a private equity firm focused on acquiring and improving distressed manufacturing businesses.
Earlier in his career, Jay served as CFO of MPI Products and Alta Equipment Company and as a Senior Manager at UHY Advisors. He holds an MBA in Finance and Production Operations from the University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
Jay is recognized for his analytical rigor, operational pragmatism, and ability to lead organizations through high pressure transitions while delivering durable results.
